When we started this series on meth a few months ago, we never expected it to hit such a nerve in our community. We've been contacted by many users and recovering addicts who have told us directly how the interviews have helped them, if nothing more than by letting them know they are not alone.

And they don’t have to do it alone.

Today, we hear from Greg and Pare, two recovering meth addicts themselves.  Both are local.  Both are incredibly brave and it’s such a privilege to talk to them about their journey.

We canvass how they met meth, how it helped them at the start, how it took over, how they got off it and the methods they use to continue to stay off this ever-powerful drug.

Thank you so, so much to Greg and Pare for sharing their stories. I know they will help other people too.

If you would like help, there is a new local Narcotics Annonymous meeting - Wednesday, 6pm - the room at the back of the church in Hikurangi.

No judgement. Just good people. Head along!
